Why I Chose Counselling?
Personally, I have been in therapy on and off for quite some time. I have experienced the fruitful outcomes of therapy myself, it helped me to see parts of myself that I was not ready to see or mostly not aware of. I genuinely wish the same for my clients and choose to be a part of their beautiful journey of self-discovery while I hold a space for them to be their most vulnerable selves.
My Scope of Practice
Over the past six months as a trainee counselor, I've gained valuable experience addressing a range of concerns. My focus includes helping clients navigate relationship dynamics, academic challenges, career stress, and the unique experiences of individuals with disabilities. I have also trained to conduct group therapy and psycho-education programs on various themes. Each interaction has deepened my understanding of human resilience and the complexities of personal growth. As I move forward in my practice, I'm aiming to work with grief, sex, and sexuality.

My Therapy Style
As a Trainee counselor, I choose not to fit my client's life experiences into any form of therapeutic modality. However, I have been trained to use CBT, REBT, Transactional Analysis, and Gestalt Techniques with a person-centered approach. I am learning to approach the therapeutic space with a systemic and social justice lens by centering the client and helping them gain agency to build a sense of identity through different third-wave therapies.
Moreover, I strongly believe in the continuous process of learning, While practical training is essential, I also recognize the significance of the continual process of updating my knowledge by studying diverse research papers and case studies. Therefore, at the core of my practice lies a commitment to learning and a willingness to embrace mistakes as opportunities for growth and relearning.
How I de-stress
As much as I love indulging myself in different forms of art like painting, sketching, watching movies, and listening to music. My friends and family have been a constant source of support, whether being a part of my yapping sessions or providing comfort during moments of emotional distress. Nature also serves as a grounding force in my life, it can be staring at clouds on my terrace, capturing the sunset, and looking at the large vast ocean helps me ground myself.
