Why I Chose Counselling?
I always felt a deep passion for understanding why people act the way they act in different situations. And I came across the field of psychology, which allowed me to read more about this and help people navigate through troubling thoughts and emotions and move toward mental well-being. The field allows me to impact individuals' lives meaningfully and offer support. I find immense satisfaction in fostering personal growth, resilience, and overall mental health.
My Scope of Practice
I would like to extend my help to individuals dealing with issues like Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Substance use or abuse, etc. I also would like to help people struggling with issues like excessive stress, adjustment-related problems, or issues that arise due to other physical health concerns.
My Therapy Style
When it comes to therapy, I primarily opt for an eclectic approach as I strongly believe that the specific issue of each client will determine our approach in the therapy sessions. I aim to help my clients feel at ease to express their most vulnerable selves during therapy and work through the difficult emotions that they are experiencing. I draw from practices of mindfulness and attempt to help my clients foster self-awareness and acceptance.
How I de-stress
To de-stress, I find it incredibly helpful to talk things out with my friends. I often end up having long rants where I express my thoughts and feelings. This process not only provides a sense of relief but also allows me to gain insights into the situation. I also find solace in cleaning. It helps me regain control and find a little calm in a chaotic situation. And finally, my go-to technique to de-stress is meditation. It brings calm, mindfulness, and inner balance.
